Right of Return

Article 12 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ranks the Right of Return as one of Human Rights’ general principles.  Every expelled Palestinian – especially in 1948-1949 – has the right to return to his/her home in Palestine. This right is an individual one.

The Right of Return is also a collective right. It should be accorded to the Palestinian refugees as a whole since they have fulfilled the set of general principles in international law that qualify them to claim that right. All families unfairly expelled (including people of Palestinian descent born or raised outside of Palestine) have a right of return as stipulated by many United Nations resolutions, especially Resolution 194.

- OAP will begin to raise issues to demand the right of return for all registered, and after the number of registered reaches one million.
